Policy Statements

Appointments

Studio sessions are by appointment only, which can be scheduled via phone or email. You must be 18 or over to receive massage treatments or have consent from parent or legal guardians.

Payment

Partial payment will be taken to reserve your appointment time. We accept all major credit cards, HSA and FSA as payment. NO CHECKS ALLOWED. Tips are welcomed.

Arika Day Mind & Bodywork does not accept Insurance as a form of payment. A receipt including our insurance code and license number will be provided for those who would like to submit a claim to their insurance provider for reimbursement.

Late Arrivals

Arriving late does not guarantee an extension of service. All sessions are designed to allow the appropriate time for the full enjoyment of our services. Both the client and therapist times should be respected. A thorough and relaxing treatment will still be provided, but ONLY for the remainder of the scheduled session. You will still be responsible for providing full payment for the services rendered.

Cancellation

You may cancel any appointment within 24hrs of your session to avoid having to make a full payment. Same day cancellations will result in a 50% charge of the scheduled service price to defer the therapist cost and room fee. If you are sick or have children that are ill, your appointment will be cancelled, free of charge. If there are severe weather conditions all sessions will be rescheduled, with no impact to pricing. Your safety is our immediate concern.

Health

Arika Day Mind & Bodywork realizes both the client and the massage therapist are vulnerable to sickness and therefore encourage all clients to cancel appointments at the onset of an illness. The massage therapist will be responsible for rescheduling their sessions if they’re sick, as well. If you arrive for a session and it is determined, you have a contagious illness, the massage session will be cancelled. It is the responsibility of the client to keep the therapist informed of any medical treatment being taken, and to provide written permission from a physical therapist, physician, chiropractor, and/or any other health care provider that massage treatments are allowed.

Sanitation/Hygiene

All equipment and linens used will be cleaned appropriately after each use. The client is expected to arrive to their massage therapy appointment clean. The client will inform the therapist of any breaks in skin and other areas that need to be avoided.

Boundaries for Therapeutic Relationship

It is the responsibility of the client to disclose any moment during the session that may be considered unsafe. The client should communicate any fears, concerns, needs, and limitations with the massage therapist. The client may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort. Only the area being massaged will be undraped during the session.

Any request for sexual activity will not be tolerated. This form of conduct will be viewed as solicitation and reported to the proper authorities. The client will not be allowed to schedule any further appointments moving forward.
